Tools & examples — MCP
Use Aperveil MCP's search_catalog, get_item and get_installation_guide tools to find and install a shader or block for your framework.
Tools and a first conversation
| Tool | Inputs | What you get |
|---|---|---|
search_catalog | Query; optional kind, tier, framework, offset and limit (1–20). | Matching published shaders or blocks, with pagination. |
get_item | Kind (shader or block) and slug. | Parameters, supported frameworks, requirements, preview and page links. |
get_installation_guide | Kind, slug and framework. | CLI command, dependencies, destination, example code and setup notes. |
You do not need to call tools by hand. Ask your editor, for example:
- “Find a Free dotted background for React, show its options and give me the installation guide.”
- “Find a Free logo section for Vue and explain how to add it to my page.”
- “Show the parameters and browser requirements for dot-grid before I install it.”
After reviewing the guide, a Free shader installation can look like this:
The CLI writes editable source to src/components/aperveil/<slug> when your project has a src directory, or components/aperveil/<slug> otherwise. Adjust the example's import path to your page and read the generated README for sizing, fonts, media and CSS.
React, Vue, HTML and WordPress support depends on the item. The guide returns the available platform's requirements; coming-soon items return no installation command.
For framework-specific details, continue with the React, Vue, HTML or WordPress guide.
