THE SYSTEM BEHIND THE SURFACE
Inside Spectral Ribbons.
Spectral Ribbons gives horizontal wave paths twisted, rounded glass sections. Entry and exit refraction, Fresnel reflection and three RGB optical paths sample a finite procedural studio. Dark transparent-looking regions, broad white reflections and colored edges reveal the thickness. The cursor gently lifts the nearby flow.
This is a bounded analytic 2.5D glass approximation, not a cloth solver, imported 3D mesh or full spectral path tracer. Refraction samples the shader's procedural studio, not live HTML behind the canvas. Ribbons do not collide, cast ray-traced shadows or trace multiple bounces between separate ribbons.
No published timing sample. Profile this effect on your target devices.
Glass refraction
How strongly the glass bends the studio behind it.
Color dispersion
How much the glass splits light into coloured edges.
Studio angle
Turns the studio lights around the ribbons, in degrees.
Ribbons
Number of ribbons.

Explore shadersTHE SURFACE IN CONTEXT
Made for a real interface.
Frame a motion studio, experimental brand or creative technology launch with a broad, luminous flow. Keep the layout quiet, give the ribbons room to travel, and use Profile depth to move from a flatter strip to a rounded material.

Independent by design
Ideas that refuse to sit still.
Identity, movement and digital experiences for people building something worth noticing.
An illustrative layout. Your content stays in HTML; the shader sets the atmosphere.
