Leave a trace. Let it become air.
Paint soft colored smoke with your cursor. This WebGPU fluid surface carries each trail forward, letting pigment curl, drift and gradually disappear.

THE SYSTEM BEHIND THE SURFACE
Inside Chromatic Vapor.
Chromatic Vapor stores motion and pigment in persistent GPU textures. Each cursor stroke adds momentum and color weights; advection, a pressure-projection step and vorticity confinement transport them into curling wisps. The trail continues after your cursor leaves.
This is a bounded two-dimensional fluid approximation, not three-dimensional volumetric smoke. Its display WGSL requires the offscreen simulation passes. Framework export kits and a dedicated npm package are not available for it yet.
No published timing sample. Profile this effect on your target devices.
Brush radius
Size of the stroke the pointer paints.
Pigment density
How much pigment each stroke lays down.
Dissipation
How quickly the smoke fades away; higher values clear it sooner.
Vorticity
Strength of the curling eddies in the smoke.
Color Looks preserve these settings. Open the editor for all 14 controls.

Made for a real interface.
Create a playful opening for a creative studio, music project or interactive exhibition. Leave generous empty space for visitors to paint; keep the content readable and the canvas decorative.

Ideas in an open state
Make a mark. Let it go.
A studio for identities that move, moments that connect and experiments that leave room for the unexpected.
